Our Mission:

The mission of the Galva Public Library is to provide educational, informational, cultural, and recreational resources and services to all ages of people in the Galva Public Library District.  The library will provide access to the universe of information, and especially that information which is of immediate relevance and interest to the community it serves.  The library seeks to accomplish its mission through prudent management and development of its resources, and by providing access to materials and services to meet the present and future needs of the community it serves.  In this effort, the Galva Public Library cooperates with other libraries, and with other educational and governmental institutions.  Special emphasis is places on current popular materials.  The library serves as a learning center and educational center for all residents of the community

How Do You Get A Library Card:

1. Complete a short, simple application and sign it.

2. Please bring proof of residency, and a photo I.D.

The card is free the first time, replacements for lost cards are $2.00. Children must be 5 years old to apply for their first library card.

Library Board Meeting Schedule 2017:

January 10th, February 14th, March 14th, April 11th, May 9th, June 13th, July 11th, August 15th, September 12th, October 10th, November 14th, and December 12th.

All Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Library and are open to the public. The agenda's of the meetings are: Call to order, Secretary's report, Treasurer's Report, Directors Report, New Business, Adjournment

The Library will be observing the following holidays in 2017:

January 2nd, New Year's Day, February 20th, President's Day, April 14th Good Friday, April 15th Easter Holiday, May 29th Memorial Day, July 4th Independence Day, September 4th Labor Day, November 11th Veteran's Day, November 23rd-25th Thanksgiving, We close at 5 p.m. from December 18th through the end of the month. December 23rd Christmas Eve, December 25th Christmas.
